Clarification on the Laws

Have you ever wondered exactly where a free kick in the area should be taken? Do you know what changes have come into effect with the 2005 laws of futsal? When was the last time you read through the book?

Well we hope to add some clarification to the puzzles that are often presented on court. The Law clarification section of this site aims to show some FIFA interpretations from the last world cup, or point out decisions that have been made by our local organisations through to other international confederations.

While not everything here is gospel, there are some good tips. You should always check with your state coach to make sure you are in line with the local interpretations that may be in force.

Links to some of the most commonly misunderstood laws are discussed on the left hand side under Common Q&A. These links will take you to the law that discusses the issue.

As for the list of laws on the right hand side, the links will become active as content for a specific law is added to the site.

And of course, if you have any questions that you'd like addressed by a qualified referee's coach, don't be afraid to use the feedback form.

If we can get a response for you, chances are another ten people will want to know too. So get cracking.

Q. When the game is stopped for the treatment of an injury, does the injured player have to leave the pitch?
A. Yes. If medical staff enter the pitch, the player must leave the pitch (when safe). The player may however be substituted.
